Exploring Changi – the easternmost tip of Singapore

Many will know the infamous Changi Airport. But most may not know about what Changi offers other than its airport. The last time I visited Changi Village was more than 20 years ago. Things would have changed so much with the addition of MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), Expo, shopping malls, etc… Since the area had cafes, parks, hotels and shopping malls added, we’ve decided to check Changi out!

It was a beautiful day with blue skies. We started our day at Changi Village filling our tummies with goodies from Chockful of Beans (Changi Village). Nice tiny little cafe with friendly staff and good food. Do order your coffees with latte art in 3D without extra charge!

We then proceeded to explore the Changi point area. On one side it’s a park where people have picnic and chill on the beach and grass. On the other side which we took was the coastal walk which led us to the government chalets, sailing club and the national service resort country club and back to Changi Village. It was quite an interesting and leisurely walk passing by the beach, fishermen and yachts…

On the return to Changi Village, we passed by Coastal Settlement. A secluded cosy cafe with many private corners, great for gatherings!

As we were approaching Changi Village, we stopped by another chalet called Treehouse Villas, also rented only to government staff. The compound had a Balinese feel to it and the chalets looked very spacious.

Just before the village was the Changi Golf Club where buggies were located at the entrance to the golf course. After Changi Village, we headed to Changi City Point (nearest MRT – Expo) where many outlets like Esprit, Nike, Adidas, Timberland, Skechers and many more were located. Food is abundant too. Great shopping area and near the airport.
