Homemade garlic herb rusks

If you like rusks or old school crispy toasts, we’ve a recipe for you. Previously we made the Sweet rusks. Now we have the savory garlic herb rusks. 

Ingredients are simple 

  1. 1 French loaf sliced thinly (1cm thick)
  2. 125g butter, softened
  3. 1/2 bunch of parsley (curled or flat leaf is fine) finely chopped
  4. Old garlic (for more pungent taste) 10 cloves or 2 bulbs finely chopped. Using young garlic is fine too depending on your preference of the garlicky intensity
  5. Pinch of salt & ground black pepper to taste. Use more if desired

Preheat oven to 180degC. Mix all the ingredients from 2 – 5 together using a fork/ spatula. Generously spread on the slices of bread and bake for about 40min. 

       

These yummy rusks are quick and easy to prepare and perfect as finger foods at a party or great with soups for a meal.
