There are no straight flights from Singapore to Berlin. Having experienced the wonderful experience on the A350 from Singapore to Doha, we were looking forward to this leg. The flight from Doha to Berlin was less than 6hours. That gave us some time to rest and enjoy the onboard service.
Immediately upon taking our seats, we were served champagne (either billecart salmon brut or drappier rosé) and date smoothie which was delicious!
The business class seats were 2-2-2 and there were 24 seats in total.
Tv screen and entertainment system were the same as in the A350. Seats were also comfortable and I actually prefer the seat design as they seemed to provide more privacy from the aisle and to the next passenger, a separator can be drawn.
Seat settings were lesser compared to A350 but was sufficient. Legroom was also decent. Tray tables were located on the side, flushed to enable drinks to be served (see champagne glass).
Service onboard the A330 was good and stewards were attentive. Food was in fact better than on the A350 as celebrity chef dishes were offered. Food’s always better when planes take off from their home grounds…. We had a dish each from Nobu Matsuhisa (octopus, enoki mushroom, chive salad) and Vineet Bhatia (gram flour pancake with achari potato). Both dishes were delicious but I preferred the pancake which was vegetarian but satisfying.
Other dishes we tried were smoked turkey and beef with feta cheese and linguini pasta in pomodoro sauce. The breads were nice especially the fruity muffin. The breads with butter and tiptree marmalade were yums!
Of course, we were given another set of the Armani amenity pouch and a nice little touch of mint before we land…
