Celebrity-chef-and-restaurateur Scott Webster’s Osia bar & restaurant serves up Australian fare at the RWS.
We had the 3 course iconic set menu (comes with coffee or tea), stone hearth flat bread (macadamia pesto & truffled kalamata olive) and seafood ice experience.
From the iconic menu, we had:
– 42°c Norwegian salmon (not bad but could omit pineapple)
– polenta crumbed foie gras (this was good)
– sea perch
– grainage black angus beef tenderloin (this was the best dish of the night)
– valrhona hot chocolate soup
Verdict: flat bread at $22 was overpriced, no truffle taste in olive, pesto did not have much taste; seafood ice experience while interesting was nothing fantastic; miso paste for the sea perch was so sweet tasted like dessert to me; hot chocolate soup was more like a molten lava chocolate cake and was rather sweet. As we had the RWS membership, the meal for 2 was 50% off so the total bill came up to about $150, wasn’t so bad.
