In my earlier post, South Melbourne Market had quite a few stalls selling yummy foods. I could not try all but they all smell delish.
There were paella (Spanish seafood & chicken rice), gozleme (Turkish pastry with fillings cooked over a griddle), coffee, dim sims, fruit juice, etc… Of all I chose to try french crepes. This was a mobile stall which was inside the market near the local designers/ crafts section just around the corner of the shop selling Puky bikes for kids. The savory crepes cost between AUD8.50 – 10. We went for the AUD9 one with egg, cheese and ham.
The crepe was prepared with an egg cracked and spread across. Salt and pepper were added to taste, followed by a generous amount of shredded cheese and a slice of ham.
It was nice but I was a little disappointed that it was unlike the version I had in UK’s Bicester Village which was so crispy throughout. Anyway we still enjoyed it as we were really hungry.
