Dining at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS)

There is no shortage of food options at RWS. No worries if you do not wish to spend lots for a meal. Whatever your budget, there is something for you. Here’s some recommendations.

For reasonably priced meal less than $10 per person, head to L1 and B1 at the Forum, lots of choices ranging from Cedele (sandwiches, salads, cakes and pastries), Ruyi (Chinese/ Taiwanese fare), Nam Nam (Vietnamese), MacDonalds are a few to name.

Opposite the forum, there’s Insadong Korean Town and Malaysian Food street also for those who like good food but do not wish to pay through their nose.

There’s also Garett’s popcorn and Hershey’s chocolates right outside Universal Studios.

For the mid ranged restaurants, there’s also Chilis, Din Tai Fung, Hard Rock Cafe to name a few.

For those who do not mind spending a little more, there are a few celebrity restaurants like Ocean Restaurant (Ironchef Cat Cora), Tangerine (chef Ian Kittichai), Syun (Hal Yamashita), Forest (chef Sam Leong in my next post), Joel Robuchon, Osia (Chef Scott Webster), Tung Lok Heen (chef Susur Lee).

In this post, we’ll introduce Syun. It’s a very small restaurant with the sushi bar at the entrance, and the main dining area which seats about 40 – 50. We went for the 7 course set and received very good service from Chee Wai, who patiently explains how every dish is prepared to the best of his abilities. He is prompt in his service and very polite indeed.

Starter of Hijiki, vege with spicy miso, simmered fish

Kakuni with mustard and Ajitsuke tamago

creamy uni wrapped with A5 wagyu. It’s said to have 7 senses when eating this. Something from the caviar, creaminess of the uni, and I cannot remember.

hamachi ponzu soy, salmon spicy mayo, tuna  sesame soy

grilled cod with grated cheese with a bayberry to cleanse the palate. How thoughtful!

Shabu Shabu with A5 grade Wagyu and heaps of Veges!

shabu sauces – ponzu soy and sesame soy. Yummy beef and complimentary Yamashita sake.

sushi and miso soup

chocolate red bean brownie, green tea crispy sandwich and yuzu drink to wash everything down.

After a fabulous dinner, Chee Wai drove us back to Equarius Hotel in a buggy. His service was indeed excellent. We were very impressed with him and it made our dinner doubly enjoyable.
