Arriving into Wellington is a beautiful sight of mountains and sea. As this was our maiden visit to NZ, it was a welcoming sight.

For those requiring internet on the go, it’s easy to get a sim at the airport and jump on the airport shuttle which will take you right to the doorstep of your hotel/ accommodation at a reasonable cost compared to cabs/ taxis.

We stayed at Amora Wellington, a mere 15min drive from the airport. It’s not a new hotel but it’s very cosy and the service was good. Our room for 3 nights was also spacious. Our package came with daily champagne and chocolates, and complimentary breakfast for NZ$200/ night, how nice! View from our room was also nice.

There was a spa and a gym in the hotel but the gym was tiny.

Breakfast at The Grill was always a highlight. The buffet spread was basic. Bread and cereal station, cold cuts, hot food, fruits, coffee / tea / juice station and ala carte menu which was quite extensive was included in our complimentary breakfast!

Overall we enjoyed the stay. We were allocated a room on the 8th floor and with the champagne, chocs and sumptuous breakfasts at such reasonable price, we couldn’t have asked for more.
