Gianni is conveniently located about 100m from Chidlom BTS. As I remembered, food here was very good in the last few times I tried. Therefore expectations remained high.
Decor of the restaurant is cosy and our table was tucked in a nice corner.
There were some specials of the day which we picked 2, the beef cheeks and home made seafood pasta. And the rest of the menu is shown below starting with the degustation:
Service here was great as usual. Their breads were very good. They had 4 types that day: tomato focaccia, wholewheat, squid ink (no photo) and plain baguette. The focaccia and squid ink stood out, very delicious with just extra virgin olive oil. We also had appetizer of chicken liver pate.
We started with a soft shell crab salad to share, lobster bisque, pasta and beef cheeks. The lobster bisque was disappointing no taste of cognac at all. The others were good but not the best. The beef cheeks were a little undercooked not the melt in your mouth texture.
Complimentary petit fours were served after the meal.
The entire meal cost about 3000 baht. Overall the meal was slightly disappointing unlike the past few times.
