Back to Bangkok 2015 – finale

We love Thai food and that is why we always visit Bangkok. In this post, we’ll share more of the restaurants we tried in this trip.

Na Aroon

This restaurant was mentioned in Annie Lee’s Blog. We decided to give it a try and indeed like she described, it was great! Not a dish was disappointing. A meal consisting of organic healthy dishes packed with flavors is a promise at Na Aroon. This restaurant is nestled in the Ariyasom Villa at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 1. It’s like a villa resort located in one of the busiest parts of Bangkok and so the restaurant was peaceful, service was good and food served quickly.

We ordered Por pia sod – “authentic Thai” fresh spring rolls served with sweet tamarind sauce (B$160)

Kanom Jeep “Thai” – steamed Thai dumplings filled with marinated tofu bedded on organic salad (B$165)

Kao hor bai bua – steamed rice nuts and beans wrapped in lotus leaf (B$210)

Yum tua ploo – spicy and sour wing beans, crispy shallots and boiled eggs (B$165). This was my favorite!

Panang pla – sweet & spicy Panang curry with sea bass (B$285)

Kao pad tom yum talay – hot & spicy fried rice with mixed seafood topped with a fried egg (B$275)

Our meal cost about B$1450 after tax.

Flour Shoppe

For those who like to laze at a quiet corner in a shopping mall watching cars drive by and people shopping, try this cafe. Located at the lower ground of Central Embassy has a nice ambience, spacious area and friendly service staff. Coffe here was also good. We ordered an omelette with tater tots, warm kale salad and small Tokyo toast! If you are a fan of Shibuya toasts @ After You, the Tokyo toasts may be something you wana order. Food was generally good at this cafe and prices reasonable.

Kalpapruek

Another pretty popular restaurant is Kalpapreuk. We went to the branch at Mercury Ville near Natural Ville where we stayed to have our meal before leaving for the airport. We ordered basil chicken rice and northern Thai vegetables and smoked chili dish. Would try more of their dishes if we had stomach space. And their menu made every dish looked delectable! Love it!
