Anti:Dote @ Fairmont Singapore

Anti:dote is located at the lobby of the Fairmont hotel. It is a stylish lounge and also a popular afternoon tea venue.

We finally had a chance to check out their afternoon tea at $45++ per person. They have kids menu too ($15++) and it’s written in kiddy handwriting.

We had an anti:dote and an oriental set. The difference is in the starter. One chooses either the truffled scrambled egg or dim sum. Personally I’d prefer the dim sum (fried carrot cake, deep fried beancurd skin prawn roll and steamed scallop Siew Mai), as they were warm and tasty but the eggs were quite plain and nothing exceptional.

The chest of drawers of dainty mini items came prettily displayed. Top tier was sweets, then 2nd were sandwiches, third was cookies and spreads for scones, and the last were 4 scones.

Special mention to the sandwiches as they were all tasty. We liked the lobster roll and chicken tikka mint best.

We thought the sweets tasted a little stale but not to the extent of awful, and the scones were warm but they could be more moist.

Overall we liked the atmosphere and presentation of foods but the price was on the steep side for the quality of food.
