Malaysia’s capital KL offers great food and lovely, friendly people. Weather is not great as it can get much warmer than Singapore. I was there during the Hari Raya Puasa period and sunway pyramid mall was packed with shoppers!
Sunway Pyramid West hotel links to the mall. It’s a short 30min drive from the KLIA and is convenient to shop and eat. The hotel is quite new, my room on the 13th floor was spacious and the bathroom was huge.
The view from my room overlooks the pool, mall & the water park.
Facilities in the hotel – tiny gym for such a big hotel, pool
Breakfast – local dishes like nasi lemak, curries were good but Chinese options like dim sum and dishes were average. There’s also an egg station, waffle/ pancake section, Chinese porridge, middle eastern section, cold cuts, fruits, cereals, and quite a selection of drinks.
On the way to the more upmarket Sunway Resort & Spa, the view was definitely better…
What I like – the location, the food options, convenient access to shops & supermarket, room rate was reasonable (approx SG$100 per night) with breakfast included. Rooms come with decent tv channels and they have my favorite Food channel.
What could be better – room air con cannot be adjusted, at 18 deg Celsius felt like 24. The food at the buffet can be better but for the room rate, it was acceptable. Improvement needed on the quality of room service – Ordered an expensive SG$8 cup of coffee via room service which I thought might be a decent hot, frothy, fragrant cup of comfort but it arrived covered with glad wrap and it tasted like instant coffee with uht milk which I could have easily made in the room, so disappointing…. I left the whole cup untouched after a small sip.
