Sydney 2016 – the food

Bennelong – fans of Peter Gilmore’s Quay restaurant may enjoy this beautiful and structurally impressive new restaurant. Opened since July 2015, the restaurant features dishes with Australian influence and some sculpted with the idea of the opera house’s sails in mind…

Price – $$$$ (> $150 per pax)

Cafe Sydney – another modern Australian restaurant with great food, cocktails and wines… The view is spectacular overlooking the Sydney harbour bridge but request at least a month ahead for seats along the edge of the restaurant or outdoors. Don’t miss the salted caramel martini! Explore the customs house for some exhibitions and interesting happenings…

Price – $$$$ (> $120 per pax food & cocktail)

Creperie Suzette – fancy a taste of France at the Rocks? Head to this little hole in the wall cafe attached to the harbour rocks hotel offering sweet and savory crepes… We tried the lemon crepe with icing sugar, one of the simplest flavors and we enjoyed it. After crepes, take a look around the quaint harbor rocks hotel, a pretty boutique hotel indeed.

Price – $ (> $10 per person just for crepe)

District 1 – Vietnamese eatery in North Ryde shopping mall for great Vietnamese coffee and pretty decent pho.

Price – $$ (> $20 per pax)

Verace pizzeria – a popular lunchtime restaurant for corporate meals/ gathering with great tasting pizzas and they’d readily customs make with any toppings of your choice. The disappointing thing was the lemon lime bitters from a can instead of freshly prepared ones.
Price – $$ (> $30 per pax)
